What is CSS?
CSS is a humanitarian and socio-economic development organization working in Bangladesh since 1972.
At its core, CSS creates much needed employment and livelihood opportunities in multi-sectors such as: primary and secondary health care, formal and non-formal education, technical and vocational education, micro enterprise development, women empowerment and gender equality, water and sanitation, child care homes and orphanages.
Our opportunity today is to come alongside CSS to determine and financially solve the immediate needs in the CSS primary and secondary health care initiatives.
The need is urgent. The impact is immediate.
This bus represents more than miles traveled. It represents health restored, crises prevented, and dignity preserved.
A Ride That Changes Everything
For thousands of individuals across our region, access to healthcare isn’t limited by insurance or willingness – it’s limited by transportation. Appointments are missed, conditions go untreated, and manageable illnesses become critical, all because there is simply no way to get to a doctor.
For many of our neighbors, this bus is not a convenience. It is a lifeline.
The new Community Support Services bus will transport individuals who otherwise have no means to reach essential medical care – primary care visits, specialist appointments, life-sustaining treatments, and follow-up care that cannot be postponed. Without it, medical care remains out of reach. With it, doors open to diagnosis, treatment, stability, and hope.
Each trip means:
- An individual in need is seen before a condition becomes an emergency
- Seniors receive care instead of silently suffering
- Families are spared the looming loss of their livelihood

As for all hospitals, power is a mandatory and a life safety issue. The CSS Hospital currently has 2 generators for back up. Both run poorly. CSS recently had a solar company conduct a study to determine the solar panel system needed to replace the faulty generators.
